Buck Jones 1940 (Matt)
This is definitely one of the more attractive guitars in the genre and a well made guitar to boot. Made by Regal in Chicago,
a maker of fair quality instruments from the early to mid 1900s.This guitar has a solid spruce top and solid maple back and sides.
The earlier ones had real nitrocellulose binding unlike the later varieties that had a painted on version.
Their must have been a truck load of these guys made as they come up for sale quite regularly. All in all a nicely finished of guitar,
pretty well put together, good quality Kluson machine heads and nice clean stencil work.
Update - July 2007
Well Buck is finished, and Buck is good. Changing the tailpiece to a pin bridge made a big difference to the sound, and only the trained eye
would pick that it has been modified. This is a great sounding guitar, very sweet, and with an L R Baggs element transducer fitted, great plugged in as well.
