Kay Guitars

Prairie Ramblers 1957 (Matt)

The Kay made guitars are almost at the bottom of the heap as far as cowboy guitars go, a bit rough around the edges you might say. They are one of the few to have 14 fretts clear of the body though. Despite being a little rough they are solid and don’t generally fall apart. The prairie ramblers or bunkhouse orchestra, as it is also known, was made on and of between the early 40s till the mid 60s usually with old kraftsman on the headstock. Some of the early ones had Del oro instead.
